Mid-Point Reflection

This class has proved to offer great learning opportunities thus far in the term. So far with guidance I have been able to overcome the struggles of getting this site up and running, combining my blog site into that of my pod, and figuring out how to comment on the posts of my group members. I can now say I am starting to feel some more confidence navigating wordpress, mattermost, and the class website itself.

Up to this point we have covered Privacy and Human Centred Learning and The History and Context of Open and Distributed Learning in topics one and two. I found these to be incredibly helpful to my own personal learning as I was one of those people who was aware of this kind of thing but didn’t pay too much attention to it. You can read more about my specific learnings in my topic one and two posts.

Now, after these posts the learning has not stopped. I have honestly been invested in updating my own privacy on the internet and re-jigging my fuller understanding of the websites i’m on and who can see them by utilizing an app called KeePass to keep all of my new passwords in a safe place where I can always remember them.

Additionally, as I am finishing up the final details within topic two I have gained great insight into the world of open and distributed learning. I can honestly say that I have a new understanding of how these classes could be effectively incorporated into our more typical lives post pandemic.

In addition to the topics we have also been working in our pod projects. I must say thank you to my pod members for all of their help and guidance in helping me get sorted on the shared website and for the discussions through mattermost. I look forward to continuing the process with you all as thus far I am not only immediately intrigued by our topic I cannot wait to do more digging into the research.

Overall, This first part of the class has been incredible as I am already learning so much. So now, I guess I need to say buckle up because more is coming in the coming weeks!
